Teleblock® Call ComplianceMore than 48 million numbers have been registered with the FTC's National Do Not Call Registry. If yours is a telemarketing company, or your company uses telemarketing techniques to reach a residential customer base, this legislation directly affects you. Beginning on October 1, 2003, a consumer who has registered but receives a telemarketing call will be able to file a complaint with the FTC. Violators could be fined up to $11,000 per incident. Are you ready? Access Point is. We now offer TeleBlock®, the only product of its kind that automatically screens and blocks outbound calls against federal, state, in-house and third-party Do Not Call (DNC) and Do Not Fax (DNF) lists. It uses the telephone company's network infrastructure via SS7 and IP technologies.* As a TeleBlock® subscriber, your agents simply access an outbound line and dial. Teleblock® screens the dialed numbers against the database. If a dialed number appears on any available DNC or DNF lists, then the call is automatically blocked. If the dialed number does not appear on any DNC or DNF lists, then the call completes normally. This process is transparent to the calling process and calling equipment. FeaturesState Lists: Many states have passed their own DNC legislation with severe penalties for non-compliant companies. How It WorksTeleBlock is an Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) service residing on a Service Control Point (SCP) within the SS7 network. The information from each of the do-not-call lists to which you subscribe is loaded into TeleBlock. Each telemarketing call made initiates a query through the SS7 network to a Service Control Point (SCP). The SCP draws on the TeleBlock logic to determine whether it should instruct your switch to allow or block call routing. If the number being called does reside on an applicable do-not-call list, you can request that the call be routed to a terminating announcement. If the number being called does not reside on any do-not-call lists, the switch will be instructed to route the call as usual. The TeleBlock databases and data center are geographically redundant to support disaster recovery. You can administer your own database through the web-based interface.
